The Promises of God Anchor Our Faith
This Golden Nugget will focus in on the scriptures in the Bible that relate to the Promises of God! In some instances they will apply to us as believers directly; in other cases they attest to God's Faithfulness; that He always fulfills His promises. We need to know the promises of God that we have solid anchors to base our faith upon! They should greatly convict us of God's loyalty to His Word! This scripture collection will be added to and updated as regularly as possible.
Color Coding Your Bible Can Be Helpful
Here is a little "help" I want to share with you. Color coding your Bible is an effective way to keep these scriptures more thoroughly etched into your mind. I highlight scriptures relating to God's promises with a peach colored marking pencil. This is a memory device for me. The peach color reminds me that just as we must wait for fruit such as a peaches to mature; so we must in faith wait for God to fulfill His promises. You might decide on a different color; but if you will color code your Bible you will find it a very effective way to travel through your Bible and find these scriptures! If a scripture has a double application; such as you have already highlighted a passage with blue relating to faith; simply make a little square box to the side of that scripture and highlight it with the peach color. You might want to write a litte "P" ( as an abreviation for "promise") within the little square as well. Then you can quickly see a passage relating to a Promise of God; as well as Faith!
SCRIPTURES ON THE PROMISES OF GOD
" And God spake unto Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,And I, behold, I establish My covenant with you, and with your seed after you; And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth. And I will establish my covenant with you, neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth. And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations: I do set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth. And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud: And I will remember My covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between Me and all flesh that is upon the earth."(Genesis 9:8-17)

"Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions. And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions? Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever. My God hath sent His angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God." (Daniel 6:19=23)

" Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint." " And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And He said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee; Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in Me. " ( Acts 26:15-20)
COMMENT: Paul's ministry to the Gentiles was promised by Jesus Christ! How mightly this promise was fulfilled.
"Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,(Which he had promised afore by his prophets in the HOLY SCRIPTURES,) Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;" (Romans 1:1-3)
" Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by Whom we have now received the atonement." (Romans 5:9-11)
" He (Abraham) staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God And being fully persuaded that, what He had promised, He was able also to perform. And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. (Romans 8:11)
"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." (Romans 8:28)
"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? He that spared not His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth. Who is He that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Roman 8:33-39)
COMMENT: If there is a more encouraging passage in God's Word, I do not not know what it would be. If you are depressed and overwhelmed; or if you know one who is in this downcast spirit, this is a wonderful scripture to consider!

Amen." (2 Timothy 4:17-18)
" For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And HAVE TASTED THE GOOD WORD OF GOD, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."(Hebrews 6:4-6)
