-The Pathway to God's Kingdom

1. Acts 2:37-38	Peter tells us there are 3 basic requirements for salvation. They are repentance, baptism in the name of Jesus Christ and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit.

2. Luke 24:47	The repentance is for the remission of sins in Christ's name. "Remission" in the original Greek "apheis" means freedom, pardon or forgiveness".

3. 1 John 3:4	This is the primary definition of sin. Sin is the transgression of God's Law.

4. James 2:8-11	That law mention defining sin is primarily based upon the Ten Commandments enumerated in Exodus 20. James makes that very clear in this passage.

5. Matthew 22:37-39	The Ten Commandments are based on love for God and man.

6. 1 John 5:3	"This is the love of God that we keep His commandments."

7. Romans 6:23	"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord".

8. Romans 3:23-26-	All have sinned; each need justification by faith in Christ's blood.

10. Acts 3:19	We are to repent and be converted. Repentance in the original Greek is "metanoes"; meaning a change of mind in other words a commitment to quit sinning. Conversion is "epistrepho"; meaning a turn about, making an about-face and turning from a life of sin to obedience.

11. 2 Chronicles 7:14	God forgives us when we turn from our sins and are converted.

12. Mark 1:14-15	One must repent and believe the Gospel (good news) of God's Kingdom and Christ's teaching. This is the path that conversion starts us on; the path to God's Kingdom!

13. Acts 8:35-39	We must believe in Jesus Christ and be baptized in His name, as the Ethiopian Eunuch was directed by Philip. Notice the Ethiopian Eunuch went on "his way rejoicing". This rejoicing was because he was on his path to God's Kingdom!

14. Romans 10:9-13	If we confess Jesus Christ with our mouth (are not ashamed of Him) and believe in our heart that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead, we shall be saved and have salvation. "For whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved."

15. Matthew 7:21-23	The confession of faith must have substance . If we call Christ "Lord" which means "MASTER"; then we must be willing to obey Him. The word for "iniquity" here is "anomos". It means no law. Those who practice a life of no law or disobedience to God's commandments are not converted and will not be in God's Kingdom. Christ is MASTER of all of your life or He is not MASTER at all!

16. Luke 14:16-23	Being Christ's disciple means one must be willing to "bear his cross, that is be willing to bear the sacrifice that might be required to obey God. One must be willing to forsake all that he or she has to be Christ's disciple.

17. Matthew 19:16-23	An example of a young man unwilling to give up everything to be in God's Kingdom. He was unwilling to give up his riches. He was actually not keeping all of God's commandment. He was breaking the first commandment in Exodus 20:3, "You shall have no other gods before me".

18. Matthew 16:24-25	One must deny himself; "take up his cross"; forsake the idolatry of self and this life and follow Christ if one wants eternal life.

19. Romans 5:1-10	After repentance and baptism; we are justified by Christ's blood; reconciled to God by His death; saved by his life life; His Spirit abiding within us.

20. Romans 6:1-18	We are buried with Christ at baptism and raised up from our old life to walk in newness of life. We are to yield ourselves to God. Surrender or yielding is the KEY to spiritual growth in allowing Christ's Spirit to dwell within you.

21. Romans 8:1-17	We receive the Holy Spirit after baptism (Acts 2:38). If the Spirit of Christ lives within us, we are promised we will be resurrected. God's Spirit will lead us on our entire journey to God's Kingdom (vs 14).

22. Ephesians 1:13-14	The Holy Spirit is the earnest (down payment or guarantee) of our inheritance in God's Kingdom. If Christ lives in us, we will live with Him eternally.

23. John 5:26	One of the strongest laws of biogenesis is that life can come only from life. Because Christ has life in Himself and He lives in us; we have eternal abiding in us as well.

25. Romans 12:1	We are transformed by the renewing of our minds through Christ's Spirit.

26. Galatians 5:16-26	This is a listing of the fruit of the carnal flesh in contrast to the fruit of God's Spirit. (Examine yourself-2 Cor. 13:5)

27. Hebrews 3:14	We must hold steadfast until the end if we are to inherit eternal life.

28. Jude3	There is only ONE common Salvation. CONCLUSION:-If we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior,count the cost, repent of our sins and are baptized, we receive the gift of God's Spirit. It is the down payment(guarantee) of our inheritance in God's Kingdom. Christ and the Father will dwell in us through their Spirit, as long as we yield to and obey God, allowing ourselves to be led by His presence. God's Spirit will produce good fruit. It will empower and lead us to keep God's Commandments. We must remain steadfast in that relationship until the end. This is the true *Pathway To Salvation!*

One of the most valuable tools you can obtain for effective Bible Study is a good wide margin Bible, in readable print. The extra space you will have for making notes will be invaluable. Over the years you will create an invaluable resource for your Bible study and reference. It will definitely be an aid to chain referencing your Bible, as well as making notes from sermons and personal study.

As a minister, the wide margin Bible I make notes in is the the most valuable utilitarian resource I utilize. A good, useable Bible, that is suited for your needs, is one of the best investments you can make.

I would discourage you from making your main Bible some of the modern '"study Bibles". They are O.K. for some reference material , but much of them are biased and some of the notes very misleading. You will find your personal notes put into your Bible much more meaningful and helpful. A well marked Bible is a gold mine.
